Katie Rich, a writer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, has been suspended after posting a tweet about President Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron Trump. The tweet, which was posted on Friday during the Presidential Inauguration, drew widespread commotion and criticism towards the writer. The tweet, which stated, “Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter,” has since been deleted. ‘SNL’ acted swiftly to suspend the writer, who’s name did not appear in the end credits after this past Saturday’s show.

The writer has since taken to Twitter Monday afternoon to address the situation and apologize for her actions. The tweet stated, “I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”

The writer’s suspension is currently indefinite.
